RETURNED SOLDIERS.
CHRISTCHURCH REMITS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The Christchurch branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association has decided to send the following remits to the annual conference at Wellington:' < > That iii view of the acute shortage of Louses, this conference urges •’ the Government -to continue the protection given’ to returned soldiers by. the War Regulations Act, 1914, .against ’ their ejection from rented property,'for a further period of 12 months from August 2nd next.”
“That in order to encourage the most desirable class of immigrant to the Dominion, the benefits of the Repatriation Act should be extended to all Imperial soldiers who' served in the great war, and who. settle in New Zealand.
“That in all eases where 1 the Defence Department has handed over* exsoldier patients to Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards, the Returned Soldiers’. Association should seek represenation on such board.’-’
