SPLENDID ENTRIES RECEIVED. The committee of the Masterton Competitions Society are. gratified at the large number of entries received, the total already to hand being 351. - At a meeting, held last night a subcommittee, consisting, of Messrs Lcn Travers, C. Spencer. Compton, and the secretary, was appointed to arrange the time-table. This important .duty will take at least two or three days, as, besides having to provide a varied and interesting programme for each day and evening session, the requirements of the -Various competitors from a distance must also be considered. The committee are anxious.to substantially increase the membership. The yearly subscription is £.l, which entitles a. member to admission tickets (transferable) covering the session, ;yul to participate in the management of the fc>ocietv. The influx to the town will act as a stimulus to business, and an advertisement to the district, while the entertainment and education which will be provided should at once .appeal to the community. • .. .
