TRIBUNAL ON PRICES.
-LARGE number of complaints.
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. . The chairman of the local Price Investigating Tribunal stated that at 'fthe, present time the'tribunal was conducting investigations in pursuance of the complaints received affecting tea, .coal, woollen goods,' wheat, milk, and house property. With regard to wheat, as the regulations governing the prxee dfe not been published, prior to April 12th, the tribunal had merely ordered refunds in some cases in which ehatgefTwerc considered ex-Jp-e, and had warned the merchants tMU the prices ii\ving now been published, any fufTTier transactions in which prices, in “excess of those published, were charged, they would be dealt with under the Act. There were many complaints of a minor nature before the tribunal, add <so far those received from the public .had been so numerous that the tribunal had'not been able to conduct any inon its own account.
