After the shocking mess Mr Lloyd George’ has made' '6£ ' the Peace Treaty- by continually giving concessions to the Hun.s, arid in other ways frittering away the fruits 'of the Allies’ victory, it is, no wqncfcr that they .have ?muddled in ‘ matters in . Ireland. 'For days past the Government has announce)] that the hunger-strikers in prison in Ireland would not be allowed by their conduct to cause the Government to change its policy in regard to these men. Over and over again Mr Bonar Law reiterated the Government’s' intention to remain firm, and that if the hunger strikers died, well, that could not be helped; the Government could not prevent: them committing deliberate suicide.
