A WILD SCENE.
TROUBLE IN IRELAND,
SOLDIERS ASSAULTED,
{By Electric Telegraph.— Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) (Received Wednesday, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Monday. There was a wild scene in a crowded street in Londonderry. A number of ex-soldiers and others, shouting, "Up rebels! , ' attacked and severely handled several soldiers of the Dorset Regimeut. The police vainly endeavoured to rescue the soldiers, who sheltered in the Salvation Army Hall.
A detachment of troops with fixed bayonets dispersed the rioters.
