THE ROSE FAIR.

A gift at home in aid of the Rose Fair to be held under the auspices of the Methodist Ladies' Guild was held at the Parsonage yesterday There was a splendid attendance members and their friends, presided over by the Rev. J. Cocker. A large number of gifts received. Final" arrangements were made for the Boss Fair, to be held in* the Y.M.G.A. Gym. on Wednesday next, December 3rd. The following ladies will have charge of stalls: — Refreshments: Mrs A. H. Daniell and the Misses Daniell and Elliott. Produce: Mrs Goradine and Mesdames Rouse, Rutter and Redman... Flower: Mrs Iveson and Mrs SleemaaSweets: The Girls'. Bible Class. Cake: Miss Jackson and Sunday School teachers. Jumble: Mrs Lyttle and Miss G-. Evernden. Cooking* competition: Mrs Nellie Miller and Miss Church. Work stall: Mesdames Beale, Pragnell and Donald. Soft drinks and ice cream: Mrs Wi& ~ Hams and Mrs Judd. mf Bran tubs: Miss Jackson and school girls. Mr A. H. Daniell has consented to* take charge of the work of erecting the various stalls. The following ladieshave donated ss. for the prizes in the cooking competitions: —Mesdam'es Richardson, Brighting, Daniell, Church, Iveson and Miss M. Daniell. The following are the classes to be competed for: —Fruit cake, Madeira cake, sponge cake, scones, pikelets and shortbreadThere will be no entrance fee, but the goods will be sold in the cake stall. There will also be» various competitions in charge of young men belonging to - the church. There will be n# charge for admission .in the afternobn,N>ut ia the evening there will be a , v small charge made. There will be a njusieal programme in the evening, a# ; aiige& by Mr L. Travers. The committee wiU be very grateful to any friends - wJJ| could forward fruit, flowers and produce of any kind. If those who are unable to send produce, etc., will notify the secretary (Mrs Iv.eson) such gifts will be sent for. , Given fine weather, the Rose Fair should be a decided success.
