CARTERTON STOCK SALE.

Messrs Wright, Setphenson and Co., Ltd., report having offered a small entry of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle at their Carterton sale yesterday. There was a good attendance of buyers, but the market was dull, the, decline being especially noticeable in dairy heifers, which of late have been eagerly snapped up. Prices ruled as under: —Shorn store f.m. ewes, 17s 6d; springing heifers, £8 to £11; 2-year empty heifers, £5 10s to £5 17s 6d; yearling bulls, 25s to £2 4s.
