CARTERTO„ SALE,
The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., Stock Department, report as follows on their Carterton sale, held yesterday:—We offered a good yarding of pigs and cattle, and a medium one of sheep, to a good attendance, making a total clearance of sheep aud pigs, and selling all the cattle except two pens. Prices were: —Good-skinned owes with lambs at foot, 32s to 465; light fat woolly ewes, £2 ss; forward condition ewes, 27s Sd; good 2-tooth wethers, 29s 6d; forward springing heifers, £11 to £11 10s; backward springing heifers, £7, £7 5s to £9; 4-year bullocks, £14 ss; dairy cows and calves, £7, £8 to £8 10s; forward store cows, £8 10s, £9 to £9 15s; heavy fat cows, £13 10s; light fat cows, £10 10s; bulls, aged, £9 to £10 15s; young bulls, £5, £6, £6 15s; empty 2-year dairy heifers, £7 15s to £8; light stores, £5, £6 5s to £6 17s 6d. 'Pigs.— Porkers, £3 6s; slips, 33s to 355; good weaners, 25s (>d, 26s to 275; small weaners, 16s to 20s.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at Carterton yesterday, when they submitted a good yarding of cattle to the usual attendance. Competition was not keen, but a total clearance was effected at the following prices:—3-year steers, £12 7s; 2-year do., £7 to £7 6s; 2-year heifers, £7 to £7 ISs; yearling steers, £3 17s; dairy heifers, £6 10s to £7 ss; empty heifers, £5 to £7; cows and calves, £7 ss; fat and forward cows, £10 17s 6d; stoer cows, £7 6s; bull, £6 15s.
