CARTERTON SALE.

The Wairax'apa"Fanners' Co-operative Association, Ltd., Stock Department, report having held their weekly sale in the Cartertou yards on Friday, when: they submitted approximately 850 sheep and about 200 head of cattle, also a large entry of pigs and sundries, to a large attendance. Sheep were in keen demand, a total clearance being made before the end of the day. Grown cattle were at par with last week's rates, but competition was very dull on all young stock, and pigs were easier. Quotations are as under: —Sheep.—Woolly fat 4-tooth wethers, £2 7s; b.f. fat 2tooth's, 345; 2-tooth wethers, 29s 3d to 37s 2d; 2-tooth wethers, shorn (small), lGs, 18s to'2ls; 4, and 2-tooth wethers, shorn, 28s Id. Cattle. —4-year bullocks, £13 14s; 3-year steers, £8 7s; springing heifers. £8 8s (id to £11; store cows, £5, £6,£6 9s, £(i 10s, £6 15s, £7 to £7 4s; fat cows, £11 Is to £11 6s; potter bulls, £4 2a Gd, £6, £7 Is, £8, £9 to £10 2s 6d; yearling heifers, £3 10s, £4, £4 5s to £G; cows and calves, £7 4s; yearling steers, £2 2s; 2-year steers, £5, £5 ss, £5 10s, £7 10s; empty heifers, £6. Pigs.—Empty sow, £3 7s; porkers, £3 11s; slips, 355; weaners, 18s, 235, 23s 6d, 25s 6d, 27s (id, 31s, 31s 6d, 34s 6d, 35s 6d. A large assortment of sundries, etc., realised satisfactory prices.
