MOKOSCO AND BUTTERFLY STARS

Another huge crowd was present at the Paramount Theatre lust evening, when a superb programme was greatly appreciated. The Oliver Morocco Company were represented in a brilliant five-act Hoeiety romance, "Tho House of Lice," in which Edna Goodrich is featured. The story carries a strong moral, while the society scenes and dressings are gorgeous. Atip-top Butterfly melodrama will be seen in "The Plow Woman." in which Mary MacLarcu and Harry De More have' the leading roles. Andy MacTavish, a stern Scotchman, held that women were slaves and needed no education. He was power supreme over his daughter Mary and his wife, whose failuro to present him with a sou damned her in his eyes. When she gavebirth to another girl Andy became so violent that the frightened woman passed away. Womanhood found Mary a willing slave to tho sister whom she had mothered. Lieutenant Fraser was like .1 brother to Mary and Ruth. Seeing the look of lovo in Ruth 's eyes, Jack confessed his love. They forgot to tell Mary. Tho railroad was planning to build through this country, and the squatters were urged to protect their land by filing claims. MacTavish found Buck Matthews and bis brother Bill, "bad" men, had already .jumped his claim. Buck went to the cabin, where he found Mary and Ruth. Mary attempted to protect her sister, and roused the admiration of Buck. Fraser entered in time to force tho halfbreed to leave. MacTavish returned and accused .Jack of stealing his claim, but Mary told her father that he had saved it. Lucille Love will appear in a further thrilling episode of "The Purple Domino," entitled "The Demon from the Sky." Good topical and comody items aro included in the series, which will bo repeated this evening.
