Never has any picture screened in MasterioJi given more pleasure to Opera House patrons than "The Clodhopper.'' which was screened to a. big holiday audience last night, in this great Triangle five-part, drama, (.'hark-s Way appears as Kvcrett N'-lson. On entering to :tp}>ly for the po.siti<i!i In , finds himself on Ihe stage of a i heat re, where a rehearsal for :t musical come.lv is in progress, and falls among a. bevy 0!' beautiful girls. The astounded manager gazes at. this apparition, and then an idea strikes him. Ho hires the "clodhopper" for :t. rural number in his show. How the "rube" makes the hit of his life, as well as showing that ho is not to be hiu"•hed at us a prodigal son, is shown in the exciting events that follow. Elaborate settings of cabarets and roof garden restaurants mark a new epoch in
luxurious setting in " The Clodhopper," where a revue is shown in full progress, a running board where the beauty chorus dunce, down among the audience, complicated stage, arrangements, ornate tables and costly furniture are all shown in lavish detail. Tho most beautiful gii-j's obtainable in California were recruited for the neauty chorus which accompanies Charles Hay in "The Clodhopper Glide," which, is the dance of the musical comedy, performed in a modern Broadway roof garden in "The Clodhopper." The second feature on the programme, "The Little Gipsy," is a William Fox photo-ploy supreme, written around a romance of rugged Scotland. The drama includes many sensational incidents, and succeeds in gripping the audience right up to the iinish. Another story of the "Po Children Count?" series and a Patho Gazette make up an ideal programme, which will be. repeated again at the Opera House this evening.
