Tho startling World Film feature, with tho bold title of "The Self-made Widow," which i« included in tho change programme at tho Cosy to-night, deals with a plot that is & miraclo of originality., In this great play Alice Brady portrays the heroine, and is aeen in what can confidently be said to bo her best role to date. As a country girl who, believes everything nhe reads, she comes to tho city, to be met by the wife and family of the man she was to elope with. Sho is in utter despair; she cannot go back to town, and, learning that somebody named Caetleton has junt suicided, she- persuades a scamp to marry her under tho dead man's namo. Thou she finds herself in n position of grave difficulty, for tho dead man was a millionaire. He tur.Ns up to iind a great, set of surprises awaiting him, and the rest of the play is a rush of dramatic incident. The settings aro in modern society surroundings in New York, and the cast is a remarkably .strong one. John Bowers, as tho hero, is handsome and likeable, and acts with great emotional force, while Herbert Barrington, us Crosby, the villain, is thoroughly convincing. This is one of the most powerful dramaa ever filmed by the World Film people. Chapter .15 of the sensational serial, "The Iron ('law," which will be shown this evening, is full of exciting incidents, and is the best episode to date. The incidents follow fast upon each other, and excitement runs to fever heat. To produce a hearty laugh, a real rib-tickling Keystone is included, "'Done in Oil.' This is one of Keystone's best, which is saying a good deal. The latest. "War News Topical" rind a pretty scenic, " Soulh-west.eru Texas,' , make up :i programme, that is up to the well-known Cosy standard.
