ITALIAN FRONT.

AUSTRIAN PRESSURE.

ROME, Thursday. General Cadorna reports that the enemy made a violent attack in the l>agarina Valley (Adige river), supported by a furious bombardment. The attacking columns were annihilated. The righting was the fiercest at the Pass do Buola, where the Sicilian and Taro Brigades several times dashed out of the trenches a.nd drove the enemy back at the point of the bayonet. A battle is developing between Rosna and the Upper Astico. The enemy is concentrating forces in the Astico Valley. An intense concentration of artillery obliged the Italians to evacuate Mount Priafora. A desperate counter attack regained possession of the position. Nevertheless, a violent fire from the enemy artillery forced us to fall back slightly on the southern slopes of the mountain. We also evacuated Pinta Corbin, upon the Asiaco Pla.teau.
