The party erected a set of true meridian in South Georgia Land, to enable whalers to correct their compasses. The expedition hoped to land at the end of .December and prepare winter quarters anil lay down depots for the overland party.

Powerful wireless receivers presented by the Argentine Government will be erected at the winter quarters. They will be capable of receiviag signals from the Falkland Islands. The expedition 's dogs are in excellent condition.
