THOMPSON-PAYNE TIOTUB2I.
The usual ertfwdf of picture lovers greeted tho screening of tho week-end change of programme at tho T.P.-Elec-tric Thoatro on Saturday. Tho star production was entitled "Homo, Sweet Homo," and was a remark;,bio film in more ways than ono. It was jiovel and pathetic, (especially tho preliminary part, which faithfully portrayed tho misdrablo life of tho author, John Howard Payno). Following were a series of dramatic studies, each of which was a pretty little etory of tho memory of homo, tho moinory which ofteu koops orring ones conscience-stricken and saves many moro from sins of tho mompnt. In each of the pretty romances, just as tho leading actor or actress was about to tako a backward step or a fatal plunge, tho strains of tho famous ballad would eomo floating over tho broezo. Tho memories thus awakened iv the nick of timo proved the irresistible influence of homo, bo it over so humble. Tho film is a masterpiece in photography, and tho stories included are attractively arranged, tho whole combining in an excellent entertainment which contained a great moral losson hard to resist. Ono. of tho episodes was of a humorous nature, and served as a safoty-valvo for the pent-up feolings of tho audience. "Changing tho Map of Europo" was a very lengthy film of the present European crisis that dealt in fino style with the leading armies and events. Other subjects include tho Gaumont Graphic and "Hia Wife's Burglar." Tho series will bo repeatod this ovoning.
