+ DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY PREVALENT. (Received Thursday, at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, Wednesday. Mr Alfred Arnold, the special correspondent of the Daily Express, has returned from a tour of many German ■ cities. H» eayfl that the most significant

The prevalent sentiments in Germany are depression and anxiety. News is scanty, aud the German losses are causing depression which no power can dispel. The coarseness of the war food revolts the Teutonic appetite. Paper money is in general use.
