INVASION OF EGYPT
PROBABLY WILL HE ABANDONED

The German staff in Palestine advised the abandonment of the campaign in Egypt, because serious advance was impossible. The German Commission on Turkish Affairs is unlikely to adopt the advice forthwith, because the prospective invasion would be hailed with joy.
The Germans will, however, probably accept the advice when a plausible excuse is found.
