Press Association—Electric Telegraph—Copyright

(Received Thursday, at 9.15 a.m.)

MELBOUENE, Thursday.

An attempt to introduce a motion for the adjournment of the disexission on the tariff led to a scene in the Federal House. Anticipating an all-night sitting blankets were distributed on the Ministerial side. One was captured for a sleeping Oppositionist and a wild scrimmage for its capture, lasting a considerable time followed. Two members came to blows but were dragged apart. Others wore dragged from recumbent positions on seats or knocked over in the struggle. Order was eventually restored by the Deputy-Speaker shouting that he trusted honourable members would remember they were in Pariament.
