Mr R Renai, of the Greytown branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been transferred to Manaia. Mr C. T. Elers, Native agent of Masterton, has gone to Auckland to attend the Native Laud Court. Mr J D. C. Crowe will represent the Pahiatua Borough Council at the municipal conference which is to be held in Wellington in .July. _ Mr R Barrer, formerly ot le Wnarsiu but now a. resident of Nelson, is at present on a- visit to Master ton. The Hon. .Uunes Allen, .Minister 'of. Education, will visit tlve teachers' training camp at Masterton next week. Mr J. A. Cellar, of the Bank ot: Australasia's staff at Auckland, is at present on a holiday visit to his relatives V Mastertou. . " Mr Harold Beauclianip. chairman t.l directors of the Bank of New Zealand, returned from a visit to Australia oy the Moeraki yesterday. Mr F. «T. Hunii, of Masterton, was vestenlay appointed grand director of ceremonies for the Wellington district by the Masonic convocation sitting at Christchurch. Mr J O. Hudson, mining inspector at' Kalgoorlie (Western Australia) and formerly of the New Zealand Mines Department, has been appointed Chief Inspector of Mines for Tasmania. A London cablegram announces the death of Mr R. E. Foster. The deceased conies of a great cricketing ±amily the best known of whom is F. li. Foster,, the famous English bowler and batsman. Mr E. H. Hiley, General Manager ot Railways, is at present in the North Canterbury district. He is due to retnrn to Wellington on Saturday. The installation of Sir Joseph VVard as Chief Savage of the Wellington Savage Club for tho ensuing season will •take place next Saturday night.
