FOOTBALL.
The Wairarapa Rugby Union's championship fixtures will be commenced on Saturday next. At Masterton the Red Star and Carterton seniors will meet and as both clubs will be able to put strong teams in the field a good game should result. The Gladstone aad United seniors will meet at Carterton. Those old opponents Bed Star juniors and Dalefield juniors will meet each other at Masterton, while the Cartorton and United teams will, play at Featherston. In the third class competition Red Star will meet Carterton at Masterton, and United will play Mavt'nborough at Martinborough. The following team has been selected to represent the Red Star Seniors against Carterton Seniors on the old show-grounds, Masterton, next Saturday:—George, Fitzgerald, Darvtfl, Bail, G. Ross, A.
