ALLEGATIONS REPUDIATED.

BY SALVATION ARMY ENSIGN. [By Telegraph —Press Association.] DANNEVIRKE, Wednesday. Ensign Garner, who was in ehargo of the Salvation Army marcjiiee at Takapau, warmly repudiates the allegations against the conduct of the territorial camp made by the Rev. F. W. Boy??, Methodist chaplain, from Palmerston. North. Ensign Garner says thai Mr Boys was only a casual visitor to the camp. This church had a marquee, mi.i he saw little of what went oa. The Salvation Army marquee was crowded every night, and Ensign Gamer s'vys he never heard one bad word or saw i anything approaching horse-play. The joined heartily iv the halt'-hon: - and showed the .greatest respect and courtesy to the chaplains. The only bad language he heard was after the lights were out, and then it wa.s no worse than that heard in the streets of any town on a Saturday night. The football match on Sunday was to be deplored, but the officers were not to blame for that. Ensign Garner is sr>ecially indignant at the slur cast on the permanent men and General Godiey, He says tha the was in a position to know the feelings of the officers, because he messed with them, and their attitude towards the territorials was in every way sympathetic. General ■Godley only stayed at Takapau one night, and Ensign Garner says he could not have refused to share with General Sir lan Hamilton the hospitality of Mr Sydney Johnston, who had generously given the use of his estate for the territorial operations. Ensign Garner concluded by stating that he considered Mr Boys' criticism uncalled for and I -quite unworthy of a clergyman holding Lμ the position of chaplain.
