HON. JAMES ALLEN HKPLIKS.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.]
AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The Hon. .las Allen, Minister for Oe- . fence, replying to Key. F. \V. Boys' . criticism of the Takapau Camp, said the English non-com, officer in ISTew Zealand so far as he (Mr Alien) knew him was an excellent man. In fact a great deal of the good results achieved 0 was due to a great extent to the English non-com, officers. Of course, there were exceptions, but on tho whole they were really good fellows. Mr Allen admitted that the young suoaltern is a problem. He ventured to think that, the young subalterns would fbe spoken of very highly by tho Territorials and it was unreasonable to expect old men's heads on young men's shoulders. Every effort was being made to stop bad language in Lhe camps.
