BIDEFORD.
Bitter, cold weather, accompanied by rain, is prevailing. Last week was more or less cold and showery, but Olio morning a dense fog enveloped tho district. It cleared, and tho day was beautiful.
Although the householders' meeting was better attended than usual, only fifteen were present to elect a new school committee. A few ladies were present, and it was certainly a change, and now that some have come out, another year ought to see many more at the householders' meeting. All those present listened very attentively to the chairman's report, which showed that the finances were good, and there was a balance —in fact, a larger balance than ha y ever been in hand. Correspondence dealing with the removal of the school was then read, and afterwards a discussion ensued about the removal. The school is to remain where it is, tho Board not having enough money to spare for the removal, which would bo costly. Voting then took place, and resulted in the return of three of last year's committee and two who have been members previously.
