MAURICEVILLE, WEST.
At the meeting bf householders hold en Thursday night, the old order of things was experienced, no one turning up to confer with the old committee, of whom' five wcro present. Finally, the committee was made up as follows: Messrs B. W. Nielsen (chairman), A. B Clarke (secretary), P. E. Marter-sc-n, A. Forsberg, A. Milne, C. B. Niolsou and J. .Jensen. The Hastwcll Band, which hold a fortnightly practice here, will assist with the -programme at Alfredton Eiiio Club ball, which takes place shortly. The local Foresters' Lodge will hold their annual ball early in June. For the last week or so the weather has been most wintry, strong southerly wind accompanied by driving showers being experienced. Stock has certainly not suffered, but outdoor work is very much delayed. The milk supply at the local butter factory is falling off fast. The machiners is only run every other day, but js likely to run into June before closing down for the season. The school "broke up" on Friday for three weeks' holidays.
