COUNTY COUNCIL.
MEETING OF FINANCE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the finance committee of the Masterton County Council was held this morning, there being present Crs R. F. R. Beetham, D. W. Foreman, J. Miller, A. J. Percy, C. C, Cross, and W. J. Welch. The treasurer reported as follows: — General fund account, cr., £1829 17s 3d; local bodies loans account, cr., £10l 14s 2<l; accounts, cr., £2580 16s sd. The receipts since the last meeting totalled £358 2s 4d. Accounts amounting to £1306 12s 8d were passed for payment. < On the motion of Cr Welch, it was decided that consideration of the letter from the Masterton Town Clcik relating to the lighting of South Road be postponed until the next meeting, pending a reply to the letter addressed by the County Clerk to the Town Clerk on the 24th ult., asking for further information relating to this matter. It was decideo that the usual allowance of £5 each for horse feed be made to roadman C. A. Smith and F. Johnson. On the motion of Cr Welch, seconded by Cr Cross, it was resolved that the Eketahuna County Council be informed, in reply to their, letter on the subject, of the transfer of Alfredton riding of the>lasterton County to the Eketahuna County, the Masterton County Council cannot undertake to furnish answers to the series of- questions contained, in the letter under notice, but that every facility will be afforded to the Eketahuna County Council to obtain the information asked for from the Masterton Council's bpo"ks, if they will detail gome one to attend the office for this purpose.
