FOXTON, Tuesday

Anxiety is being shown in shipping circles regarding the non-arrival of th« Wootton/ which" left Lyttclton for Foxton at midday on Tuesday and sho-iid have arrived on Friday morning. Since leaving she has not been sighted by jiny vessel. It is surmised that the vessel has broken a shaft or disabled her machinery. The Marine Depart ment has been advised that the Wootton is four days overdue and all steamers have been warned to keep a sharp look out. It was reported from Pahautanui this morning that a launch containing three persons left Kapiti on Sunday and has not been seen since.
