AUCKLAND, Monday,

A well-organised demonstration in favour of the Bible in schools took place in tho Town Hall ti-uight, about 3500 people participating. Addresses ■were delivered by prominent clergymen, including Bishop Averill, and the proceedings were enthusiastic. It was deckled to send a telegram, to the Prime Minister, conveying an expression of the desire of the meeting that opportunity be given for a referendum on the question of teaching the Bible ■in shcools.
