BARLEY DESTROYED.

FIRE AT BLENHEIM

On Saturday afternoon a fire destroyed Mr Corry's grain store. The building, which was built for the Farmers' (Jo-operative Association, and cost £2000, was totally demolished. Details are meagre, but it is understood thirty thousand bags of barley were destroyed. The origin of the lire is unknown, and the insurances are not available. Mr Corry, at the time of the outbreak, was at a conference of barley growers and merchants. Altogether three thousand, tons of stuff were destroyed. A large meeting of farmers, on Saturday afternoon, unanimously resolved that steps be immediately taken to relieve the glut in the barley market by shipping at least half the present year's crop to the English market .._
