THOMPSON-PASTNE PICTUBEI.
GEAITD MILITARY SPECTACLE.
What is described by English papers as the greatest war picture ever produced is shown in "Sheridan's Ride," to be scroened to-night for the first time at tho T.P. Electric Theatre. This exclusive is from the studio of Bison, covers a length of 2500 feet, and iB a magnificent spectacle of the days of the Civil War, quite equalling that wonderful production, "The Charge of the Light Brigade." The story opens in the midst of high festivities at the homo of the Wrights, where Gen. Phil. Sheridan and Miss Ruby White become fast friends and Georgo Briason, nephew to Miss Wright, and Clem Shelby are rivals for the hand of Caroline Ashburn, a southern beauty. The fun is at its height when the first gun of the Civil War is hoard, and from then on one of the finest military dramas is unfolded in the most sensational manner quite impossible to describe. Many heroic deeds are done in the field of bloodshed, the finest of all being Sheridan's twenty-mile ride on his magnificent black charger, where at the risk of his own life he succeeds in turning tho tide of the battle, and so saves his men and his country. The story is supposed to cover a period of three years, and during that time a bitter hatred has sprung up between the rivals, resulting in many duels, and finally finishing with the most tragic cud for Shelb}' and honours and happiness for tho rest of the principal actors concerned in this mighty special feature. The other dramas comprise "The Old Oak Bucket" (Lubin), "The Turning Point" (Kalem). "The Silence of R. Walton" (Hepworth), and "A Child's Thought," (A.8.). The interest section will include "Machine Making" and "Manufacture of False Hair," whilst the humorous side will be represented by "The Wrong Floor," "The Wedding Present," and "A Funny Story." Bright incidental music will greatly enhance the evening's entertainment.
