SPLENDID FEATS OF MOBILISATION.

CAPETOWN, Sunday. The Natal Federation of Trades announce that the ballot resulted in a majority in favour of a general strike, but the Federation decided to defer action for the present. General Smuts, Minister for Defence, sent tho Government's thanks to the commandoes called out, particularly to those who achieved splendid feats of mobilisation in reaching the Rand in time to enable the Government, by using their own resources, to deal firmly and effectively with a national danger.
