FIRES IN SYDNEY.
BRIGADE'S REPORT

The annual report of the Fire Brigade shows that 1500 fires occurred in the metropolitan .area last year. Sixteen were classed as serious. The report urged the necessity of a salt-water service, with mains honeycombing the business portions of the city.
