At the Wool Growers' Conference at Salt Lake City, the delegates considered the question of introducing co-oper-ation in the wool-growing industry, in order to compete with the incoming Australian products. Stops to eliminate entirely the commission men, who have lowered the-.-. growers' profits, were advocated. : - Ex-Governor Gooding, of Idaho, de j clared that unless selfish .manufacturers were curbed they would' destroy not only the wool-growers,"; but' the nation itself. He added that" the industry would* not prosper while the Democrats were at the head of affairs. He attacked Mr Bryan (Secretary of State) for taking a leading I 'part in the introduction, of the free wool campaign. "
