JOHANNESBURG, Thursday,

Disturbances occurred on the streets at Benoni last night, tho strikers throwing dynamite amongst the police. Twen-ty-three arrests were made.

The position along the forty miles of reef varies. In some mines all tho underground men are coming outj while at other mines tho men underground are working and only tho surfacemen are striking. At othors tho majority of both surfacemen and underground men are working. The position will bo definite this afternoon.
