AUCKLAND, Woiinos-lay.

It was reported at a nieeti.it* of ihe JU'ppital Committee that on Do'-eni'ior 20th a lad was admitted suffering from a virulent affection of the throat. Three nursee contracted the disease, ■which, in the case of Nurse Keyworth. 21 years of age, terminated fatally. Another nurse is making slow recovery and a third is convalescent.

The medical superintendent stated that it was one of those unfortunate happenings which were bound to occur at times despite every reasonable precaution being taken.
