Beau Soult, carrying a fair weight, and assisted by two companions, went ten furlongs in 2min 15sec, being -all out at the finish. Eadnor, increasing his pace as hhe went, ran ten furlongs in 2.125. Cider'was sent over a mile in 1.52. The fastest gallop of the morning was put up by Beragoon, who, carrying less than his Derby weight, beat Emperador over ton furlongs in 2. 10, by four lengths, finishing exceptionally well. This is a record for a Derby trial. Gigandra covered seven furlongs in 1:29, equalling the record. Hallowmas went nine furlongs in 1.56jj—a record . Soltano, ridden ■by Manning, went nicely over ten furlongs, beating Prince Flavius in 2.1 G. Soltano eased up after jumping off to allow his companion to get level, otherwise he would have made much faster time.
Andelosia beat Sheriffmuir by three engths over a circle in 2.20.
