Einperador is a firm eecond favourite for the Metropolitan, behind Duke Foote. The first acceptances left sixty-four horses in the Metropolitan. Duke Foote is top-weight with 9st 71b. Einperador has Bst 31b, and Anna Carlovna Bst lib. The race will be run on Octoger 6th. Speaking of the chances of the two horses mentioned in the above cable, "The Referee" says: It may be that with age Duke Foote ie getting a Iczy/worker, but though he looks well he ipis not shown anything special on the track. Perhaps he may figure to greater advantage in a race, and it would be necessary in order to repeat Ms lorm year. . . Emperador a distance might not come amiss to him, and as he has been nominated for another mile and. a half race at the meeting, in addition to the Metropolitan, his trainer must have an idea he will stay fairly. .
