During a fire at the Dow Company's manufacturing works, Stanaul, a youthful elevator attendant, repeatedly ran the elevator to the top floor, rescuing panic-stricken employees. The firemen carried a number of women down the firo escapes. But for the bravery of the lad in keeping the elevator in action, heavy loss of life would hays been certain.
