DANNEVIRKE SHOW.

DANNEVIRKE, Wednesday,
The Daunevirke District A. and P. Association's autumn show opened today on the new grounds at Mangatera, which are 26 acres in extent, and finely appointed with a new stand, capable of seating 800 people. The weather was line but windy, and the attendancegood. The entries constituted a record, and the show was strong lv cattle, sheep and horses. Championship awards were as follows: —Lincolns, D. McKenzie, ram and ewe; Border Leicesters, J. A. Welch, rapi and ewe; English Leicesters, Slack Bros., 'ram; Southdowns, Ellis Bros., ram and ewe; Herefords, H. B. Stucky, hull and cow; Polled Angus, F. Armstrong, bull and cow; Jerseys, E. A. Ransom, cow; Paul Hunter, bull; Holsteins, M, O'Connor, cow, J. Hart, bull. EesiUt of Competitions. At the Dannevirke show to-day the competition results were ;as follow: Live stock judging (Komney rams), C. P. Riddell (Titree Point), 1, E. J. McDonald (Waitahora) 2, B. Lemon 3; Lincoln rams, J. A. Welch (Kiritaki), 1, B. J. Haliburton (Matamau) 2, R. Strang Masterton) 3; men's driving, C. C. Cox 1, W. G. Benson 2; veteran's jumping, D. G. Riddiford's Ronald 1, T. Shaw's Merry Legs 2; maiden hunters, Baldie 1, Belvoir 2, Rasper 3.
