LATE COMMERCIAL.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At our cattle fair held at Palmerston North on Wednesday, November 6th, we yarded close on 1700 head of cattle of various classes. The. extremely boisterous weather- prevented several lines from coming" forward, and no doubt affected the attendance to a great extent. The sale, however, opened well with young cattle, competition being keen, and bidding throughout was brisk, except for a few lines of lowconditioned three-year steers, but any lines which were passed at auction soon found purchasers, and we have to report a most successful sale, every lino changing hands, with the exception of a few lots of bad-coloured young steers. Quotations: 114 4 and five-year bullocks, £7 12s 6d; 50 forward Shorthorn, Hereford bullocks, on account of Mr J. Linklater, £7 7s; 60 three and four-year bullocks, on account of Mrs S. M'Donald, £7 6s; 30 two and three-year Polled Angus steers, on account of Mr E. E. Beckett, £5 10s 6d; 70 three-year steers, on account of Mr O. H. Druce, £5 12s 6d; 114 three-year steers, on account of Mr J. Williams, £5 11s; 52 three-year steers, on account of Mr S. G. Perry, £5 10s; 50 two and a half and threeyear steers, on account of Mr Hugh Akers, £5 2s 6d; 31 two-and-a-half-year steers, on account of Mr S. G. Perry, £4 17s 6d; other small lots of three-year bullocks, £5 7s to £6 7s 6d; on account of Barber's estate, 23 yearling Shorthorn steers, £4 17s; 15 yearling Shorthorn steers, £3 14s 6d; 12 yearling Shorthorn heifers, £2 15s; on account oi ; Mr E. B. Beckett, 23 Polled Angus yearling steers, £3 19s 6d; on account of Mr G. Farmer, 55 yearling steers, £3 63 6d; other lines of yearling steers made from £3 5s to £3 16s; two year steers, £4 2s 6d to.£4 17s 6d. A nice line of 63 18-month dairy heifers made £4 ss; and other lots of dairy heifers, £3 8s to £4 Is; yearling dairy heifers, £2 15s to £3 Is; light fat cows, £5 10s; forward cows, £4 to £4 6s.
