MASTERTON PICTURE COMPANY.

A packed and delighted audience was present in the Town Hall last evening, to witness the opening entertainment ot the Masterton Picture Company. The programme- submitted was an" attractive one, comprising scenic, industrial. dramatic, and humorous numbers, and the audience testified its appreciation with frequent outbursts of applause. The pictures were shown with a clearness and steadiness which was commented upon by ail. To-night the Company will offer a great programme for the delectation of the public. The "'star" film described as the greatest picture dramatisation ever presented. It lias never before been shown in New Zealand, but had set the eriticalParisians in a flame of excitement for mouths liust. The drama is based upon life in Paris, and it supplies all the passion, pathos and thrilling incident which can be crowded into a lifetime. As the him is three thousand feet in length, it will keep the audience in a simmer of excitement for a full hour. Other items to be presented will be a vivid portrayal of the eruption of Mt. Etna, showing the fiery outbursts and the weird and gorgeous surroundings of the great volcano: "The Wonder Plant," a gem in itself: "The Advantages of Hypnotism," which is ,ya;t now creating much interest in is'ew Zealand; "Speedy, the Message Knv, " a side splitting comic: '-Salmon Fishing ill Scotland," (scenic.); '•The Little Major." etc, The Mastorton Picture Company has set itself our to please, instruct, aud entertain the public. A complete change of programme will be offered every Monday and Thursday. The present, remarkable effort will therefore only he available for two nights. An orchestra of five, under Mr H. Inns, will provide inspiriting music every evuiug.
