ODDFELLOWS' LODGE.

ANNUAL MEETING

The Masterton Oddfellows' Lodge held its annual meeting last evening, Bro. P. Smith, N. G., presiding over a large attendance of members. The balance-sheet for the past year was presented, and the chairman congratulated the members on the success made by the Lodge, and pointed out that the results showed that the Masterton Lodge's financial position was equal or better than any other Lodge in the district. No less a sum than £1(50 was added to the sick and funeral furd, which now stood at nearly £2000. The interest on investments was £10 more than the sum paid away during the year for sick benefits. The management fund had also increased by £2., and the fund now showed a credit of £(58. The further sum of £7 10s was added to the Benevolent Fund. After going fully into the balancesheet, the chairman stated that there was every probability or the contributions of members being reduced. In concluding his address, the chairman asked members not to relax their efforts in obtaining new members during the present year, but to try, if possible, to present even a more satisfactory balance-sheet at the end of the year. A vote of sympathy was passed to Bro. Thomas Bacon, whose wife had recently died. Bros. P. Smith and J. Wins'kill were elected to represent this Lodge at tho next District meeting to be held at the Lower Hutt on the 20th inst. It was decided to hold a social, to take the form of a "pound night," at tho close of business on next Lodge meeting, the 19th inst. A letter was received from the secretary of the Kiibirnie Oddfellows' Lodge, Wellington, stating that His Excellency the Governor would be initiated as a member ot the Lodge at an early date, and asking for the cooperation ami attendance of the Lodge members. Two new members were proposed for admittance into the Lodge.
