SOCIALISTS CLOSE UP,
189 SECOND BALLOTS.
Received Monday, at 8.5 a.m. BERLIN, Sunday. The latest figures in connection with the elections are: — Centre . . 85 Socialists . . <H> Conservatives . . :$5 Poles and Daves , .. Ifi National-Liberals .. <*> Ono hundred and eighty-nine second ballots will be held.
The Sociaiisis are interested in JIT, and the Radicals in 53.
The Socialists hope to win 40. They claim to have gained 57,000 votes in Berlin, and increased their vote in the provinces by .'32 per cent.
The Socialists' successes were largely at the expense of the Radicals and National Liberals.
Much depends on the bargains for mutual support iv the second ballots.
The Catholic Centre party are unshaken at present.
