?TMr Jabez Bridges left for Auckland this morning to be present at the marriage of his son, Mr D. Olley Bridges, on Monday next.

Miss Ada Margaret Dickson, who has many friends in Masterton, was married at Wanganui on Wednesday last to Mr John Robert Cade, of the Public Works Department.

His Excellency the Governor has rethe following reply to the mesof congratulation forwarded from Now Zealand to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales upon his birthday, dated .Tune 28th:—"Will you tnank the Government and people of New Zealand from me, and tell them I hope one day to be able to visit their beautiful country.—Edward P." Tho Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) and Sir John Findlay (Attor-ney-General) have varied their travelling arrangements to make an earlier arrival in New Zealand. Instead of leaving London on July 18th to join the New Zealand Shipping. Company's s.s. Ruapehu at Marseilles, they will leave on, July (sth. Tho cablegram containing this news does not indicate any further departure from existing arrangements, so that it may bo assumed that the route originally fixed will be adhered to, - and that the Ruapohu, instead of being dtio in Wellington on August 22nd, may be expected to arrive on the 15 th of that month.
