MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., report:—

We held our usual monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, tallow etc., yesterday, when we offered 60 bales and 200 bags of wool, 2,500 sheepskins. 250 hides, and a quantity of tallow, hursehair and rabbit skins. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding throughout was keen.

Wool. —All lots offered sold at current rates. Odd bales of fleece realising 7d to 7%d, and lambs up to 9d.

We quote .-—Crossbred, 7d to 7%d ; dead wool, Gd to 6%d; pieces, 4J£d to s^d; locks, 2*_d to 3>_d; lambs* wool, Gd to 9d. Skins.—Crossbreds, to 7>£d; hoggets, to Gd; dead skins, 5d to sJ£d; half aud short wools, 4d to sd. Hides.—Ox, 4d to s^d; cow, 4> 2 'd to s}£ calf, 5d to Bd. Tallow.—ln shipping order, 245; tins, 20s 9d to 22s 3d. Horsehair.—ls 4d lb. Rabbitskins—2d to 7d. Our next sale will be held ou Wednesday, Bth March,

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Ageucy Co., Ltd., report: We held our periodical wool, skin, hide and tallow sale yesterday. There was the usual attendance of buyers, and prices were well maintained at late rates. We offered a good catalogue of wool and skins, but as customary at this time of the year, our catalogue consisted chiefly of oddments of wool, the prices for which were well up to Wellington values. We quote: Wool. —Crossbred, to 7%df pieces, 3%d to 5%d ; locks, "3d to ; dead, 5d to Sheepskins —Medium crossbred, 6d to (5%d ; coarse, to 5%d ; dead, 4%d to 5Kd; pelts, 2d to 3%d; lambs, 3*_d to 5%d. Hides.—Ox medium, 6*|d to ; cow,sd to s>£d ; cow slip, sd; calf, 5d to Bd. Tallow, inferior quality, tins, 14s to 19s per cwt; casks, 23s Gd per cwt.
