Auckland appears to have the largest number of old ago pensioners, nearly 557,000, the payments under that head last year amounting to over £75,000, Christchurch came next with £00,000, Duuedin £54,000 and Wellington £3(i,000. The total payments throughout the Dominion were over £25,000 in excessjof those of the previous year. Over two millions and three-quarters sterling has been paid in old age pensions siuce the Act came into operation.
