WAIRARAPA NURSERIES.
The tree-planting season is now at hand, and thosa who contemplate securing supplies during the present season should be interested in an announcement made on page 8 by Mr E. of the well-known "Wairarapa Nurseries," at Lansdowne, Masterton. Special preparations have been made this year, and the stock is the largest ever grown at tne nurseries. A special feature of the grown at the " Wairarapa Nurseries" is that they are all acclimatised, and can bo depended upon to thrive well in auy part of the Wairarapa, owing to their hardy and robust nature. The stoct: of shelter and forest trees, which ruus somewhero in the vicinity of 20,000, include such notable varieties aspinus insignus and muricata, English larch. Norway spruce, lawsomana and welliugtonia, whilst the hedge trees comprise silver matipo, escallonia, eieganus and a splendid assortment of healthy laurels. The fruit tree 3 include good commercial sorts of apples such as Cox's Orange, Stunner Jonathan Monro's Favourite, Branley's seedling (new variety), plums,peaches and apricots. In small fruits there are currants and strawberries, Cresswell's seedling, which variety produces two crops a yearone each iv spring and autumn. Expert men are available at the Nurseries for planting and renovating gardens in any part of the district.
