Press Association—Electric Tclcfiraph—Copyriiihv Received Friday, 11.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Friday. A four-masted barque from the West Coast of America narrowly escaped striking the Middleton Reef. For eight days, while approaching the coast, sho was buffeted by iucessaut gales, and when day broke she was close on l;o the reef, and the crew Had barely time to swing the ship clear.
