THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

The usual change of programme was presented at the Foresters' Hall last night to a crowded house. The now collection is well worthy of the kudos bestowed on it in places where it has been produced previously. Animal training has reached such perfection that in "Consul the Great" we have what is next to huinau intelligence. This clever animal goes through an ordinary seaman's work during his voyage across the Atlautic Ocean, aud affords the greatest amusement to all the passengers. He is seen skating, cycling aud dining—in fact, doing all a human being cau do except speak. "The Girl Detective" is oue of the exciting class so dear to Masterton audieuces, aud the child who so cleverly saves her father from being imprisoned won the hearts of all present. "Gaul's Hero" is a natural colour film, and deals with a part of ancieut Romau history. The remainder of this five programme consists of some five scenic subjects, especially that of "Italy's Waterfalls aud Glaciers." Tho comic element is in abundance, and shrieks of laughter could be heard at "Mr Durant's Hunt for Amusement," "The Elopemeut," and the huge screamer, "A Driukers' Competitiou."
