A fashionable aud exceedingly pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew's Church this afternoon. The contracting parties were Miss Ivy Gladys, youngest daughter of the late Mr F. Tatham and Mrs Tathani, of "Houiewood," East Coast, aud William A. Laird Merodith, of Wairouga, East Coast, second sou of the lato Mr Edwin Meredith, of Riversdale, and grandson of tho late Mr Edwin Meredith, of "Llaudaff," Masterton.
Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. H. Sykes, of Upper Hutfc, aud formerly vicar at Te Nui. assisted by jLtev. H. Watson. The bride, who is very popular, looked charming, attired in a handsome cream satin directoirc with transparent sleeves, lace, aud oraugo blossoms, with bridal veil, aud carried a shower bouquet. She was givou away by her brother, Mr J. Tatham, of Homewood, aud was attended by four bridesmaids—Misses Hall aud WiUou, attired in pale green crystal iue frocks, direetoire, aud lai - «o black hats with greeu silk trimmings, aud carried crooks, with violets aud greeu streamers, and Misses Dorothy aud Marjorie Homer, nieces of the bride, who wore frocks of mauve crystaline, with white felt hats, aud mauve trimmings, also carrying crooks aud mauve violets.
The bridegroom was attended by his cousiu, Mr Gleu. Meredith, as bescmau, aud Mr Philip Drummoud, groomsman. Mrs Tatham, mother of the bride, wore a handsome black silk voile, with lace aud black bounet aud ospreys.
a reception was afterwards held at the Assembly Rooms, Exchange .Buildings, nearly two hundred guests boing present. The young couple were Hie recipients of many handsome and valuable presents from their numerous relations and frieuds from all parts of Wairarapa and East Coast.
The bride's going-away dress is dark green striped costume, with green silk hat and green wiugs to match.
