After a stormy meeting, Mr Thyer, President of the Trades and Labour Council, resignad. owing to tho carrying of a resolution that it was incousistout for tho president to accept a seat ou the Wages Board under the Industrial Disputes Act. The Council had previously coudomued the Act.

The Council adopted a resolution in favour of limiting a week's work to 44 hours.
